THE SITUATION
In Uganda an elderly widow is just like an orphan, helpless.
Alone and left to fend for themselves the situation of these women is dire, they have no security, no family to care for them in their old age and have to find or grow their own food, imagine doing that if you are 80 arthritic, possibly sight or hearing impaired.
Elderly widows are seen as a burden on an already poverty stricken community and are therefore the last to receive assistance.
WHAT WE DO
We provide care and support for destitute elderly widows.
ODMI, in partnership with Widows Intercessors Ministries are changing this situation providing care and support for widows in their communities. W.I.M. provincial coordinators ensure that the ladies are looked after with food, clothing, shelter and medical care.

When you sponsor one of these ladies we will send you her profile and photo. She will write to you once or twice a year to let you know how she is. We would encourage you to write to her, pray for her. All correspondence to and from Uganda is directed through the ODMI office. We will also send you a newsletter once a year to update you on all news and projects.
