Farm

It has been discussed that the farm needs to become self supporting. They are looking into developing money raising crops like chilies. We are trusting in God to provide the financial aid to start projects, but then they must become self sustaining.

Money for two Friesian cows (Holstein) has been donated. They are expensive to buy but yield a lot of milk. So we are expecting to have a herd of them. Milk can be used to feed widows and orphans and also be sold in the market.

'Just Kampers' an automobile business in the UK has kindly given finance to start a pig farm. A few sows will be purchased and housed on the land. The piglets raised will be distributed to widows in villages and some will be sold to keep the pig farm running profitably. When people donate £12/$20 towards a piglet for a widow it will be purchased from the widows own pig farm, which is better than going to the market to buy them.

Chickens and goats will also need to be purchased. Goat meat is a very popular food and also the milk is now sold in Uganda. All these projects will be run by the widows. Training in animal husbandry will be given.
